Our Mission
To engage people in water-wise connections with the land through arts, science and technology. Water flows through all aspects of life, connecting ecosystems and communities. It inspires ideas and inspires us. Then we create ripples.
Who We Are
The ClearWater Futures Foundation is a not-for-profit hub for ecological innovation, water stewardship, environmental leadership development, eco-educational research, nature-based exploration, and mental well-being.
Our flagship site, ClearWater Farm, established in 2016 on the shores of Lake Simcoe in Ontario, serves as a living laboratory where:
- Children in their formative years discover the wonders of the natural world.
- Agri-preneurs advance regenerative and water-wise farming practices, and contribute to new agri-food models for a sustainable future.
- Innovative research drives new solutions for connection and sustainable living.
- Visitors reconnect with the essentials of wellness—fresh food, clean water, vibrant communities, and a healthy planet.
Our impact extends even further through Future Chicken, a multi-platform media universe. Featuring the time-traveling Future the Chicken and her team of Planet Protectors, this initiative inspires kids and families worldwide. By sharing tools and imaginative stories, Future Chicken empowers the next generation to take bold action and envision a brighter, healthier future.
Guiding Principles

- SENSE OF PLACE: Our vision grew from Lake Simcoe. Our mission is nourished by the Lake and its watershed.
- REGENERATIVE FARMING: At the heart of our mission is replenishing the land to foster sustainability and ensure food security.
- CONNECTED COMMUNITIES: We engage with communities around the watershed and with communities worldwide who share our interests.
- SHARING THROUGH PARTNERSHIPS: We work with partners to develop and enhance programs and share knowledge. We are informed by Indigenous Ways of Knowing as well as Western science.
- TRUSTED STEWARDS: We use funds entrusted to us by our private and public sector supporters wisely to deliver high quality results consistent with our fiduciary responsibilities.

We acknowledge that ClearWater Farm stands on land with a rich history as a meeting place for Indigenous communities and early settlers, where knowledge, culture, and goods were exchanged under the shade of the over 200-year-old Trading Tree. The ClearWater Futures Foundation is committed to reconciliation by honoring this legacy, learning from Indigenous perspectives, and fostering meaningful relationships built on trust, respect, and collaboration. We strive to weave Indigenous knowledge and practices into our work, contributing to a shared future that reflects the principles of truth and reconciliation in Canada.
